Storage Tank Water Heaters

Storage tank water heaters are the most common way to heat water in the United States.  Fuel sources are natural gas, propane gas or electricity.  Residential storage tank water heaters store between 20 and 80 gallons of hot water.

RESULTS / APPLICATIONS:

• New Homes: Generally, and to help meet the CA code requirements, builders are having water heaters installed that have efficiency ratings of 90% or more.  Many manufacturers offer models with an efficiency rating of 90% or more.  
• Existing Homes:  When working with a smaller budget, having a conventional storage tank water heater installed will likely be the most affordable choice.  A typical replacement of a storage tank water heater with a like storage tank model offers the most savings on labor and the cost of the water heater.
